Receiving a bouquet of flowers from an acquaintance,
It would be a waste if the flowers wilt in just a few days
But there is a way to enjoy flowers for a long time
That is to put the bouquet just received into the vase of water!
Have you ever received a bouquet of flowers on a special day?
A bouquet of flowers will put you in a better mood when you receive them and flowers are also a great way to decorate a space. The lifespan of flowers will vary depending on the species, but if you take care of a few things, you can enjoy the flowers for longer.
Try the tips below or share with the recipient of the bouquet!
1. Open the flower wrapping paper and put the flowers in thẻ water container
When receiving the bouquet, the flowers will be perfectly packed and glued to the stem. Remove everything and put the flowers in the vase.
Put about 5~8cm of cold water into the vase. If you change the water regularly, you can keep the flowers in good condition for at least 3 days.
2. Cut the flower base diagonally
One mistake many people make before putting flowers in a vase is not cutting off the base of the flower. Use scissors to cut diagonally 1 to 2 inches. If you cut like this, the flower will consume more water, so the flower fin will be more lush. It is better if you cut the flowers diagonally every 2-3 days.
3. Advoid direct sunlight and warm places
Since the flowers in the bouquet are cut flowers (cut flowers), if placed in sunlight or in a warm place, bacteria can multiply and soon wilt. So keep the flowers in a cool place like the kitchen or the corner of the room where there is little light.
4. Put sugar, vinega in the vase
When you put two tablespoons of sugar in a pot of water, the sugar will speed up the blooming process. If you want to quickly see beautiful flowers as they bloom, such as roses and peonies, put sugar in a vase.
Vinegar inhibits the growth of bacteria so flowers will stay fresh longer. The flowers won't bloom immediately, but tulips, hydrangeas, carnations, and spray roses (mini roses) can make great home decor if you keep them in a vase of vinegar.
5. Learn about long-lasting flowers in advance
Give a bouquet of long-lasting flowers, such as hydrangeas, carnations, freesia, sunflowers, and daffodils.
Carnations and freesia can live for 2-3 weeks as long as you change the water regularly, and carnations are seasonal flowers that can stay fresh for two weeks. Even the sunflowers that come to mind when you talk about summer can stay fresh for about two weeks if you keep watering them regularly.
I found a way to keep the bouquet I received for a long time!
Bouquets are a gift that represents joy and happiness, but you can keep that joy much longer. From the moment you put the flowers in the vase.
If you have received bouquets of flowers as a gift, do not wilt them and enjoy the flowers. You can brighten up your space and feel the giver's heart every time you see the flowers in the vase!
